SMC Nutrition provides comprehensive nutrition counseling for your active life. 

Nutrition counseling services may cover topics including:

  • Active nutrition for sports / fitness / performance including return-to-sport for injured athletes

  • Proper fueling through active pregnancy and the postpartum period

  • Chronic disease management including pre-diabetes / type 2 diabetes / cardiovascular disease

  • Gastrointestinal disorders

  • Food allergies and intolerances

Initial Consultation

(60 minutes)

An initial nutrition counseling session includes:

  • Discussion of your goals related to food, fitness, and wellness

  • Comprehensive assessment of your food history, eating behaviors and patterns, medical history, and activity

  • Development of a personalized plan with long- and short-term nutrition goals

Follow-Up Consultation

(60 minutes)

A follow-up nutrition counseling session includes:

  • Check in on progress made toward previously discussed goals

  • Celebration of success and discussion of obstacles and challenges

  • Strategies for overcoming obstacles and challenges

SMC Nutrition takes a client-centered approach to nutrition counseling. This means that all nutrition counseling services include personalized resources related to your specific nutrition plan and goals.

Nutrition counseling is provided virtually through a secure and HIPPA-compliant portal, that also allows clients to track progress toward goals, record food and fluid intake, note hunger/fullness.  Clients are also able to send secure messages and upload files and photos in between consultation sessions.

 

Billing

  • SMC Nutrition accepts Blue Cross Blue Shield, Harvard Pilgrim Health Care, Mass General Brigham Health Plan, and United HealthCare*

  • If you have another insurance provider, SMC Nutrition accepts fee-for-service payment (due at the time of your scheduled session) and can provide a superbill for reimbursement from your insurer*

  • SMC Nutrition accepts payment in the form of cash, check and all major credit cards (American Express, Discover, MasterCard, VISA)
